Yeah, the vag-likeness of the brain bug has always been disturbing. I would say the director/special effects folks had issues with their mommies/women, but the film as a whole is crazy feminist. Women are pilots and soldiers and constantly saving dude's asses. Plus the co-ed shower scene, which was totally cool.
The film was crazy fucking political in lots of other ways too. It's so funny to see it a second time years later and compare it to the Bush administration...
(I liked the feminist angle, but the shower scene was more than I needed to see of that one actress. Bleh.)
